90 Day Challenge Starts May 1st!

What Is the 90 Challenge?
The 90 Day Challenge is a 90 Day live for life competition open to all that allows participants to compete by tracking goals and supporting each other individually and as a group.

The 90 day challenge is designed for participants of all fitness levels. I’ll provide you with opportunities to set goals, track your progress, motivate our team, and complete weekly challenges!

You must buy into this challenge with a $10 contribution to the St. Vincent Food Pantry, establishing and posting three goals, and posting the results of the Adult Fitness Test.

How It Works
On Your Mark!
It's easy - just email me to register. You must email me a picture of you. J  Just a nice headshot.  I will create a page with your name on the Fit City 518 Blog for you. Once registered, and I have created your page, you will need post the following to YOUR PAGE:
  • List three goals.  (Two of these goals must be based in fitness or nutrition, and one must be an alternate goal. For example, finishing a project, establishing a weekly date night with the hubby, clearing up clutter etc.  This should be something that adds value and happiness to your life.)

  • How will you measure these goals? Duhhhh.  Post this too.  J

  • Complete the Adult Fitness Test located at http://www.adultfitnesstest.org/  You have 2 weeks to complete and post your results.  (This about establishing a baseline.  We are NOT comparing numbers to each other, only to yourself.  There may be activities that you cannot complete.  THANK IS OK!  Know your body.  Know where you’re at.  Set your mind on the journey to your goals.)

Get Set!
Each week I will assign homework or a challenge.  For points baby.  J
Week one homework- Complete the Adult Fitness Test.  I will schedule a meet up at the Bethlehem town park if you prefer to complete this in a team setting.

Get Moving!
Participants will record their daily progress online. At the end of each two-week round, the standings will be announced in an email to all participants and posted online. To protect privacy, if you choose to participate in the weight loss category, no other participant will ever be able to see your individual weight.

Extra Credit- Each week you are encouraged to post and lead an activity… as will I…  You can lead a walk, post a coffee meet up, walk you dogs together, get creative!

Point System-  I will award points based on progress, perseverance, group motivation and extra credit!  I will post the leader board weekly.

The Reward
Besides the reward of good health, the fun of challenging yourself and your team members, Fit City 518 will offer participants that track progress the following:
  • Random prizes for creativity, perseverance, and team motivation.

  1. If anyone works in downtown Albany, I would like to start walking during lunch. I was thinking either M/W/F or T/TH from 12:15 - 12:45. We could probably get close to a few miles in. If your interested, post back. We could meet at the base of the bridge on Broadway and go from there.

  2. Hey Shelley, did you find a walking buddy for lunchtime? I have a friend who works close by the bridge and can ask her if she'd be interested. She walks in the morning with her husband, but recently told me she's also training for a 5K. Let me know if you'd like me to ask her.

    1. Hi Mary. My friend Nancy (who is doing this challenge also) works with me, so I am sure she will join me (right nancy?), but I thought I would offer for others to join as well. It is so nice to take a break for a little while and since I sit at a desk all day, it feels good to move. Most days I am lucky if I walk to the bathroom and back more than once, so getting out a few times a week would be a welcome bonus. Especially with the gorgeous weather we are having. If your friend would like to join me (or us), the more the merrier! You can give her my email - shelngreg@gmail.com and we can set something up! Thanks!
