  1. So, a little more than nervous about all of this, but the timing couldn't be more perfect!

    3 Goals
-Train for a 5K to be "run" this Fall(will use "Couch Potato to 5K" to stay on track & post weekly progress/by August want to be able to finish a 5K in 40 minutes or under)
-Train to be in bed by 11 PM every weeknight (will keep a daily written journal - yep, with dragonflies on the cover! - of bedtimes starting May 1st!)
-Create a functional reading & writing oasis out of my old home office (currently serving as a storage space for dust, paperwork & files from a very old job, dust, a sordid collection of stuff I will probably never look at or use again, and a lot of dust) (will keep a photo journal of the cleanup and hopefully the rejuvenation of the space)

2 more goals for good measure
-Recently downloaded the "Lost It!" app in order to track calories in order to help lose weight. Will try to lose at least 10 pounds in 90-days.
-Will track the number of moments over 90-days during which I am sad, then stop being sad in order to just be awesome...true story!

  4. So, I get to be partnered up with Mary? Woo hoo! What did she do to deserve such a sentence?!? ;)

    So here are my goals:
    1. I want to lose 15 pounds. I'm going to go back to logging my food intake and my activity output using CalorieCount.com. Actually, I started today. :)
    2. I want to be able to run an entire mile. At least a mile. This is in preparation for trying to run a 5k by the end of the year. I ran today for the first time. (OK, it was a run walk, but it counts.)
    3. I've struggled to come up with a third goal. There are so many that I want/need to work towards, but that aren't easily quantifiable. A big one is needing to get more sleep. I think I'm going to try to go to bed before 11:30 at least 3 nights per week.

    There! Goals set.

    1. Jaye
I'll loan you the baby for a week and I guarantee you'll be in bed by 900 pm every night! :)
Good luck you two - sounds like you have some great, realistic goals.

  5. So, Jaye and I were also separated at birth. What's the proof you ask? Jaye and I both find zero joy in running and strongly feel that the runner's high is not just a myth, but a blatant lie told by those who inconceivably love the heinous practice of running. Jaye and I both love Lisa enough to actually push ourselves to participate in this heinous activity. Jaye and I also feel just the right amount of acceptable hatred toward Lisa while heinously running. I know that's not how the word is used, but I had to keep the theme rolling! This hatred of Lisa is not deep at all and makes one feel slightly guilty, much as one would feel when they've taken the Lord's name in vain while in a church! So we'll keep at it; but I'm sure that our high will not be as organic as that "runner's high" being lied about!

    1. Ha! Love it! I feel the same way (at least about running). Did my first 5K last year and it sucked, but I am probably going to do another one. I think of it like child birth. Your first one sucks really bad and hurts like hell, but the after a while you forget about the pain, and you think, okay maybe I could do that again...

  6. By the way, Jaye, I'm thrilled that you'll work with me on the 1 mile run/5K project! It is never pleasant for me to run, but I always laugh when you're around, so it takes the sting out of it!!! Awesome time at the Corning Preserve today and I look forward to taking Lisa's name in vain at the Crossing's during the week!

  7. MGM and I are definitely twins born to separate mothers. (I've had "If I Only Had a Waist..." stuck in my head all afternoon.) I don't know what possessed us to think we could actually run an entire 1/2 mile this morning. But we will do it! Maybe we need to find men in kilts with Scottish accents running ahead of us ... or Antonio Banderas.
This afternoon, Judy and I went to Thatcher Park for a picnic and then went for mini-hike. So I am definitely due for a pedicure now.

  9. Bummed that the rain interrupted our plans for a walk/run last night, but happy to go to Zumba with Julie.
Also happy to report that I am officially down 3 pounds! Woohoo! Logging food intake definitely makes me think about the choices I make.
I really have to work on the going to bed goal. I'm in bed most nights by 11:30, which is the goal. I just need to stop "crushing candy" and go to sleep!
